OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Calloused Fitness started with small group of women who gathered in the basement of Coach Katie's first home - to lift weights and push themselves past their limiting beliefs. Overtime, the gym has gone from basement, to one stall garage, to an accommodatingly large garage gym. The garage gym quickly gained popularity among local fitness enthusiasts for its no-nonsense approach to fitness and strength focused community.
As Calloused Fitness's reputation continued to grow, Katie realized that she wanted to make her fitness approach and programming accessible to people beyond the local community. She recognized that not everyone had access to a physical gym or the time to commute to one, and thus, decided to open up as a virtual gym online.
The virtual gym was designed to offer the same comprehensive and customized fitness experience that Calloused Fitness was known for but in a digital format. The gym's virtual platforms allows members to access their workouts from any device, including their phones, tablets, or computers. The transition to a virtual gym allowed Calloused Fitness to expand its clientele beyond its local community and reach people from all over the world. The gym's virtual format also offered greater flexibility for people with busy schedules, making it easier for them to workout whenever and wherever they wanted.
Despite the growth and expansion of the gym, Calloused Fitness has never lost sight of its humble beginnings. The gym continues to be a place where people can push themselves, support each other, and achieve their fitness goals, whether it's in-person or online.

Meet your coach
Coach katie Bielefeld
Hi, I'm Katie Bielefeld, a certified strength and conditioning coach with a undeniable desire to get women stronger. I have over a decade of experience in the fitness industry and have worked with a diverse group of clients, from aging adults to high school athletes, early risers to night owls, working or stay at home moms and lots of weekend warriors.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and from then I just had to keep learning any more I could about getting stronger. My wall would be covered if I hung up all my certificates - I can't help myself. My favorites are my Powerlifting Coach, Medical Exercise Specialist, USA Weightlifting Coach L2, & the Reflexive Performance Reset Coach certifications.
I let a few of the pricier pieces of paper "expire", my ego took the biggest hit but I don't think my education suddenly suffered the day the expiration date rolled around on the piece of paper. I'm not quite sure how they decided that a person forgets what they learned as a CrossFit coach exactly 1 year after they're certified. But I do know, I'm cheap and I'm not about to pay thousands a year for an up to date copy of the paper I keep in a file somewhere in my office.
My approach to fitness is centered around strength training and functional movement. I believe that building a strong foundation is essential for achieving almost anything, whether it's improving athletic performance, mental fortitude, or simply feeling better in your everyday life.
I pride myself on taking an experienced and personalized approach to the training I provide, and I work closely with each client to create a program that is tailored to their individual needs, goals, and abilities. I believe that fitness should be fun and challenging, and I am committed to helping my clients realize and achieve their full potential.
When I'm not coaching, you can find me lifting weights, sipping coffee, or trying to decide what's for dinner tonight that 7 different people of varying ages and palates will eat (sometimes at varying hours of the evening if any of them are also in afternoon athletics). I believe that strength is a lifelong journey, and I am dedicated to helping others make it a part of their own journey as well.
